Empire Foundations is a one-person web design business based in Dunedin, New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it, and what I do with it. I follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What I collect
When you fill in a form on this site (such as the contact form or the free website review), I collect the details you give me: usually your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address and your message.
Like most websites, this site also collects basic, non-identifying information automatically, such as the pages you visit, the type of device and browser you use, and your general location. This is collected through cookies and the analytics built into my website platform.
How I use it
I use your details to reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes and website reviews, deliver the work you ask me to do, and send you invoices. I use the anonymous site information to understand how the site is used and to improve it. I will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to.
Who I share it with
I never sell or rent your information. Your details are stored with the service providers I use to run the business, including Wix (website, forms and hosting) and my email provider. Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand. I only use reputable providers who protect personal information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry details for as long as I need them to respond to you, and client records for as long as required for tax and business purposes (generally seven years). After that, I delete them.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site work and show me how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Email me at angela@empirefoundations.co.nz and I will respond within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
